David Farkas: Photokina 2010: Day 1 – Leica S System
CLICK NOTE: Cool information about the Leica S System from Photokina. This also caught my eye:
In one of my meetings during the day I had the opportunity to try out the M9 Titan. The camera is really a work of art and looking through the viewfinder and its bright red frame lines, I felt like I was targeting a missile or the like.

I am very disappointed that there was no solution announced for Leica R users. I thought there would be a technology spilldown from the S system to an R solution.
If there is no R solution soon, it is tempting just to get a Nikon D7000 and put a Zeiss ZF.2 lens on it, to get that great glass hooked up to a good digital platform and 16+ megapixel resolution. Or just continue to shoot film with the R system and scan film, I guess.
Very disappointing. But I will wait for the solution a bit longer. I first discussed the prospect of an R solution in Monterey, California at the Leica shop there in March 2007; i can’t believe there is still nothing on this in September 2010!
