Shots like this of the homeless are, in the lexicon of street photographers, cheap shots. These people are two to a block in New York City, and they are easy prey to any wannabe street photographer who is trying to imbue his hip shots with meaning by invoking pathos. Amongst experienced street photographers, photographing homeless people begging on the street is considered very poor taste unless the person is engaged by the shooter and the photograph is taken with the subject’s consent.
