In honor of its 25th year, the newspaper assigned 25 well-known photographers to a huge photographic project, “Time in Turkey.” The undertaking — partly inspired by the name Zaman, which means “time” — was to create a document of a culture that is often misinterpreted. Selahattin Sevi, the paper’s photo editor, said the project was meant to avoid an orientalist viewpoint.
