The Danger and the Beauty of Being Transgender in Brazil

For Kosovo-born photographer Jetmir Idrizi, watching the Carnival of Brazil was, in a word, “unforgettable.” Here amongst the lavish costumes and floats, the boundaries of gender and sexuality seemed to blur; there were drag queens and samba dancing, transgender people flooding into the streets in celebration.
