Photographer Nadia Bseiso has won the 2020 Aftermath Grant for her long-term photo project “Infertile Crescent,” the non-profit Aftermath Project announced this morning. The Aftermath Project, founded by photographer and filmmaker Sara Terry, supports documentary photography that addresses the aftermath of conflict. Bseiso, who is based in Jordan, plans to use the $25,000 grant to continue her long-term project about water scarcity along Jordan’s borders, a result of generations of conflict over land known as the Fertile Crescent. Bseio completed the first chapter of the project with support from the Arab Documentary Photography Program.
