Generally shot in highly stylized black and white, the Diary, which began in 2009, follows Olivier Zahm through a fantasyland populated by the artists, socialites, models and celebrities who regularly appear in his magazine — enthusiastically abiding by its ethos of creative and sexual freedom, as evinced by many nude portraits of female lovers. “Even in the bedroom I have my camera, I sleep with my camera, I have lunch with my camera,” he said. “I go to dinner with my camera and I’m recording my experience.”
