One Shot: Chip Litherland’s “FOCUSED”

“For the last couple years, a small dusty bag of 35-mm. film peered at me from my desk,” the Florida-based photographer Chip Litherland told me when I asked him about the genesis of his current project. “The internet, camera phones, and motor drives have burst the dam of photography, causing a flood of imagery into the world, and ‘FOCUSED’ is my attempt to stick a wad of gum in that dam to stop the leak for even a brief second.”
