Turkey Detains Prominent Opposition Journalists

The editor of the last remaining opposition newspaper was in custody, as were 12 writers and executives and a leading cartoonist.

Murat Sabuncu, the editor in chief of Cumhuriyet, Turkey’s oldest secularist newspaper, and at least 12 other executives and journalists from the daily were detained during early-morning police raids.
