When mixed martial arts first came onto the scene, I didn’t care. I’d see signs along I-5 or ads in the Willamette Week for cage fighting, but I could never get excited. Perhaps it was shooting low-budget pro wrestling at dim armories in the past that turned me off. Not sure. Or thinking, “It’s not going anywhere. I’ll get that another time.” Well, that time has come in a big way.

UFC 102 hit Portland this past weekend and – thanks in large part to buddy Chris Ryan – I was able to secure a spot ring side.
