In the category stories of “War & Conflict” of the 12th edition of CHIPP (China International Press Photo Contest), five photographers were awarded. In the single image category, the first three prizes “Gold”, “Silver” and “Bronze” were awarded respectively to Jerome Delay (Burundi Unrest), Kemal Jufri (Children of The Crisis) and Andrew Burton (Baltimore Uprising). Two awards of excellence were given to Jacob Ehrbahn (Aftermath of the Paris Attacks November 2015) and Bassam Khabieh (Field hospital – Damascus).

In sight of celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2017, Magnum Photos has teamed up with photography platform LensCulture to create a major new photography competition – the Magnum Photography Awards. Magnum and LensCulture are now inviting photographers from all over the world to show their work (entries close next 24 May) to the top professionals sitting on the award’s jury: Magnum photographers Martin Parr and David Alan Harvey, New York Times photo editor Stacey Baker and LensCulture‘s own editor-in-chief Jim Casper, among others.
