A Summer Contest Festivus!:
Holgapolooza is an annual photo contest and celebration of the Holga camera.
Each year from July to September, photographers from around the world are encouraged to participate in an international contest featuring Holga photography hosted by Light Leaks Magazine and Toycamera.com.
Categories will be presented and submissions will be reviewed by well-respected and internationally renowned judges who will determine winners in each of the categories. Winners will be rewarded with cash and prizes donated by our sponsors as well as have their photos published in Light Leaks magazine.

French photographer wins European Publishers Award

As reported by the British Journal of Photography, Klavdij Sluban, a French photographer, has been selected for the 2009 European Publisher’s Award for Photography. The announcement was made earlier today at the Rencontres d’Arles.

PDNPulse: Getty Awards “Good” Grants to Stephen Ferry, Karen Kasmauski:
Stephen Ferry has won a grant to support his project for Human Rights Watch, “Chronicle of a Death Foretold: Widespread Threats and Political Violence Against Colombian Civilians.”
Karen Kasmauski has won a grant for a documentary project for Save Our Cumberland Mountains.

News Photographers Association of Canadaʼs Award Recipients Canadian photojournalist Louie Palu received the highest honour, fittingly atop of the highest building in the country, during the 2008 News Photographerʼs Association of Canada Photo of the Year awards ceremony. Palu, was named Photographer of the Year by the association for his work in Afghanistan and Cuba for Zuma Press.
