The VII photographer Christopher Morris has responded to my post ‘The War Photographers biggest story: themselves‘, which I published a few days ago, and which seems to have hit a nerve.

TIME contract photographer Christopher Morris, on assignment in Libya for nearly a month, has been documenting what Libyan government minders have orchestrated, and beyond. Working quickly, often times shooting from inside the tour bus and under the radar of government minders, Morris’s photographs transcend the intent of his guides, capturing the subtleties of a closely watched society at war with itself.

From following the rigid protocols of the White House to the totalitarian bubble of North Korea, he has captured lyrical and telling moments under watchful eyes and strict boundaries. Over the last two weeks, Morris, a TIME contract photographer, has been on assignment in Libya and encountered some surprising similarities to some of the places he’s worked in the past.

Photo Essay Hillary in Iowa
VII photographer Christopher Morris is trailing the U.S. presidential candidates as they crisscross America during the state primaries and caucuses. In Iowa, which held its caucus January 3, 2008, he followed the Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, and captured her supporters out in full force. The New York senator came in third in the Iowa caucus, behind Barack Obama and John Edwards.
